"The Grass withers and the flowers fade, but the Word of our God shall stand forever" Isaiah 40:8
We live at the end of the beginning and the beginning of the end. Today if you would hear His calling....

Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.
Before the mountains were brought forth,
or ever you had formed the earth and the world,
even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.
We may think that our dwelling place is a home, apt or Rv. Maybe dwelling is where ever we find comfort and a place to rest. Where we feel safe. Or want to be safe. That is why this sentence is so important. Our real and only place of safety, our only true place to dwell is in our relationship with God. Here the writer is saying how he knows that God was planing on us before the mountains or earth ever was designed and created. These amazing mountains, rivers, oceans, deserts, valleys and all earthy wonders where made for US.
Not humanity for the earth. The earth is not our mother!
God is our creator. Jesus Christ made everything that is. The stars in the heavens, the earth for mankind to grow and live. It is God alone who is everlasting. He is our shelter, our dwelling place must be in Him alone. Our worship is to Him alone! Our security is found no were else.
Though mankind will seek every single other place to dwell, in time they will learn that only place is or all to dwell in. That place is a united union with God .
My study bible says this about the Word "LORD" used in the first word of this verse above:
Lord here is not God's personal name (ex.3:14-15) but a Hebrew word celebrating His majestic authority. The word suggests a title similar to "my Supreme Master" . Dwelling place refers to the Lord as the "refuge" of His people (71:3: 91:9)
