Oh the weight and burdens we willingly carry...

I was driving back from a trip to town today and was pondering the huge burden we carry of sin in our lives.  We do not think of it consciously but it is a huge weight we do not have to carry.  We choose to carry this burden when we choose to keep on sinning in our lives.

What is sin?  Sin is anything that breaks the law of love God instituted for the good of man and life.
1Jn 3:4  Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

When you read the basic laws written on tablets in the old Testament, they are a list of elementary laws of love for people that are suppose to help us learn to:
1st Love and respect  God first and
2nd to love others.  Our actions and thoughts toward all others (including ourselves) are to be of one who cares for and loves others we'll being, happiness and safety.

Also it is important to understand that God left us the bible as a handbook of sorts on how to take care of our own bodies, minds and to the ways to get along with others.  By breaking any point of God’s law of love results in automatic breakdowns.  Eating  badly, acting badly, thinking wrong thoughts.

Just the act of eating too much or wrong foods is such a burden.  We get overweight, which causes all these health problems.  Diabetes, failing thyroids, cancers, etc.  We can get so overweight we cannot even walk with our own legs from the burden.  We can not sleep well, and mentally we get so discouraged we eat more and do less.  It is a vicious cycle.  I know I have been there!!

Like a car when you buy it brand new has a handbook on proper care and maintenance of the car.  The book helps you learn how to operate the vehicle safely and how to care for it so it lasts a long time and benefits you best.  Breaking the rule of putting oil in the car will result in the car quitting eventually and ruining the motor.

Same with humans.  God made us so He alone knows what we need to live and grow and prosper in this physical life.  If we eat candy and pop, too much alcohol or drugs we ruin the body and our minds.  We hurt ourselves and we hurt those around us who know us and love us.  If we put in our minds wrong thoughts, sinful images, words,  we will destroy our minds. And the opposite is true too. If we put good things in our minds we renew and help our minds thus reaping joy and hope and love!

Since God is Love.  (and note that God’s love is not what this world thinks is love)  We shall understand that everything God does or allows is based on love toward and for mankind. Just because we do not KNOW the purpose of man and maybe you do not yet know what true Godly love is yet is no excuse to proclaim God does not act in love.  We know nothing compared to God who has created all the universe and everything in this world.  Evil and sin come not from God but from a fallen world trying to live life without Him.

Our burdens then are heavy.  My body aches and has pain for the years I sinned against my own body and did not follow the basic rules of how to eat and exercise correctly.
For every sin or act that went against the laws of Love God has spelled out for us, there is a reaping of that act.  If the act was good and according to the laws of God then I reap blessings and joy.  If I sin I also reap what I have sown.  Remember too that we reap more than we sow when we sin.  For a price is paid.  We can be forgiven but the penalty can be life long.  Physical life long.  Not spiritually.  God forgave me when I answered His calling and repented.  I changed my direction and study His ways.  However one of my sins was adultery before my calling.  Due to that act of sin, due to circumstances I lost contact with my first daughter.  I was forgiven by the blood of Jesus Christ but I lost all those years she was growing up.  Thankfully I did get to make contact with her years later but nothing can give me back her growing up years and the years she needed her mother to love her and teach her my values and learn her family on my side.  It is a burden that will not be changed.  I can know her now and love that she is in my life again!
The good news is that sin requires the death penalty but Christ died for us.  I do not have the death sentence over my head because of Jesus sacrifice.  and I LEARNED. We can be told a dozen times as a child the fire is HOT but until we put our hands on HOT we really dont learn what Hot is!

God wants us to learn and choose His ways so we can benefit and gain everlasting happiness and joy and never sin in the world tomorrow.  God is producing children to call His own.  Now is the harvest coming.  Those who answer His call and renew their heart to His ways will be called His children to live in a world soon to come.  When Jesus returns to earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords He is usher in a perfect new life for all.  Some will be changed to spiritual sons and daughters at His coming and others will have time to choose.  Time to live without Satan and his temptations.

Today if you are being called you need to turn and answer now while you can.  For before Christ returns a day so terrible is coming that if not for the elects sake (the called out ones, the children of God) the world would be destroyed and all in it.  But have courage.  God will safe us from ourselves !

1Jn 1:8  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Heb 11:25  choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a time,
Heb 10:26  For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins,
1Jn 1:7  But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
1Jn 5:17  All unrighteousness is sin,
1Jn 3:8  He who practices sin is of the Devil, for the Devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was revealed, that He might undo the works of the Devil.
1Jn 3:6  Everyone who abides in Him does not sin. Everyone who sins has not seen Him nor known Him.
1Jn 3:4  Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness, for sin is lawlessness.
1Jn 2:1  My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
