Analogies of God's purpose is everywhere.....

I have found that God has created everything in the world to be like little messages of who He is and the connection of spiritual purpose. If you take anything about you and ask the question, “why did God create (fill in blank) in this way?”

I was pondering the simple creation of bodily functions of man. God created us with the need to eat food through the mouth, digest food and water and then have to eliminate a huge portion back out of the body.  Why did He create us so?  God does not need to eat.  He is spirit. So why were we created so?  The physical answer is because to keep the body living it needs food and water on a daily bases for optimum health.  But I wanted the spiritual reason of what God is saying to us.

We know that we put food in our mouth and we don't just swallow it, we chew it and swallow.
We drink water and liquids and swallow. But not everything we drink and eat is absorbed or used by the body is it!  No, a huge amount seems to be “waste”.  Thus we pee and have bowl movements.  We should be having them daily to be healthy.

What I see in this is that
God is showing us that every day we are absorbing and bringing into our minds things from the world around us.  We see things with our eyes, we feel things in our hearts and souls, and we listen to music and words.  What we allow in from around us needs to be daily assessed.  Is this good for me to think on?  Is this bringing me closer to God, is it bringing my mind peace, joy and calmness or does it bring on anger, sinful thoughts?  We cannot always control what we see or hear but we do control what we keep in our minds.

All these things shape our minds over time.  From the time we leave the womb we are absorbing things.  We form opinions from this constant intake.  Values, assumptions, which lead to actions, thoughts and we become like a mirror reflecting in character what we keep as necessary living truths.

For instance, “say a baby is born and she is born to a mother and father that smiles at her a lot from the time she is born. This baby rarely see’s anger in her families interaction with her.  This baby will more than likely grow up smiling as part of her attitude toward life.”  This is a small part of the whole as she is taking in a lot of other things as she grows up also.  But this is the idea.  If she grows up with soft music, smiling parents who are happy and positive most the time will she not be more apt to be a reflection of the way the parents have acted around her by age -say 14?

I have had dogs my entire life.  Always more than one.  I had this one dog who had a habit of grooming excessively her front paws.  This dog lived to be pretty old and every single younger dog I got after her would learn to do that paw licking as well.  Right now I have a corgi I got as a pup.  I have two older dogs.  Mia has a love for eating grass.  More than most dogs.  she is healthy and not anything is missing from her diet.  But my point is that my corgi has picked up the habit of eating grass like Mia.
Mia

Bottom line.  God is saying to us that as we live each day we will be processing sounds, actions and information daily.
2 Corinthians 4:16New King James Version (NKJV)
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

We need to chew (or ponder carefully be renewed as in verse above) every morsel we allow into our minds.  We need to daily be  “chewing on” (reading and studying) His word and His ways so that we can eliminate the things that are NOT good for our spiritual growth in righteous character.

For those who are in the flesh cannot please God. Or those who keep putting everything into their minds and actions without eliminating the wrong behaviors and ideas and thoughts are not living a life that God knows is best for us.

Romans 8:8-11New Living Translation (NLT)
That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.
But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.) 10 And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life[a] because you have been made right with God. 11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.

We do not please Him by living, thinking like the world.  by World God is talking about the ways contrary to His ways of perfect love and righteousness. For humans this is impossible without the Holy Spirit in us and helping us understand Godly truth.  But how can one know what is good and truth but by the word of God!  That is the whole point isn’t it!  We NEED daily to drink in the word of God as much if not more than food and water.  Especially as we see the time of Jesus return growing more imminent.  But also because your life is how long?  You do not know.  It could end in one year, 40 years or tomorrow.  Today you must change and increase your relationship with God.
