Happy Mothers Day!

When God made Woman he was making a helper to Man.  Together they were to work together to populate the earth.  But they were also to teach and train the children in the ways of God.  The ways of love, sharing, caring, and looking out for others.  I love how God has special promises to the widows, and women who have no husband to help them.

Here are some of my favorite verses for moms, widows, and women in general:

Proverbs 31 :
A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness

Ephesians 6:2

Honor your father and mother for this is the first commandment with promise

Exodus 22:22-24
You shall not mistreat any widow or fatherless child.  If you do mistreat them, and they cry out to me, I will surely hear their cry, and my wrath will burn, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children fatherless.

Psalm 68:4
Father of the fatherless and protector of widows in God in his Holy habitation.

Zechariah 7:10
Do not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, or the poor, and let none of you devise evil against another in your heart.

My mother is still with us thankfully.  She always uses kindness.  She cares deeply for all her children and grandchildren.  She has worked hard all her life to provide good food from her gardens, and to help where she can.  She is honest and gives more than she has many times.  Of her time esp. Mothers are the backbone to healthy adults.  They are needed way beyond the child hood and teen years.  They are invaluable for direction and comfort.  Direction when we are down.

I was blessed with a wonderful God loving Mother.  Many people may not have one in their growing up years.  This I can not image. How my life would be different without the care and advise of my mother.  Where would I be today?

But if you were -then adopt one!  Find a woman who has no child, or one that the children no longer remember her.  The two of you will find fullfilment. A great help in times of need.  A bonding like in the story of Ruth!  She left her town and all her relatives to follow and be the daughter of Ruth.  Her late husbands mother.  Ruth became happy following her and her life was so changed!  If you never read the story I urge you to do so today!
The stories in the Bible are just as revenant today as they were then.

 Love you Mom!
