I do not Worship the Cross!

What does the cross mean to you?  Some people wear it as a symbol of how "tough" they are.  We see gang members with crosses, murderers wear it, all kinds of people wear the cross but why?  There are a few churches that frown on wearing the cross.  Their reasons vary but one was that it was not to be a symbol of worship that only God and Jesus Christ were to be worshipped.

From Wikipedia:

The cross is often shown in different shapes and sizes, in many different styles. It may be used in personal jewelry, or used on top of church buildings. It is shown both empty and in crucifix form, that is, with a figure of Christ, often referred to as the corpus (Latin for "body"), affixed to it.Roman Catholic, Anglican and Lutheran depictions of the cross are often crucifixes, in order to emphasize that it is Jesus that is important, rather than the cross in isolation. Large crucifixes are a prominent feature of some Lutheran churches, as illustrated in the article Rood. However, some other Protestant traditions depict the cross without the corpus, interpreting this form as an indication of belief in the resurrection rather than as representing the interval between the death and the resurrection of Jesus.
Crosses are a prominent feature of Christian cemeteries, either carved on gravestones or as sculpted stelas. Because of this, planting small crosses is sometimes used in countries of Christian culture to mark the site of fatal accidents, or to protest alleged deaths.
In Catholic countries, crosses are often erected on the peaks of prominent mountains, such as the Zugspitze or Mount Royal, so as to be visible over the entire surrounding area.

Crucifixion is an ancient method of deliberately painful execution in which the condemned person is tied or nailed to a large wooden cross and left to hang until dead.
Crucifixion was in use at a comparatively high rate among the SeleucidsCarthaginians, and Romans from about the 6th century BC to the 4th century AD. In the year 337, Emperor Constantine I abolished it in the Roman Empire out of veneration for Jesus Christ, the most famous victim of crucifixion.[1][2] It was also used as a form of execution in Japan for criminals, inflicted also on some Christians.
crucifix (an image of Christ crucified on a cross) is the main religious symbol for CatholicsEastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox, but most Protestant Christians prefer to use a cross without the figure (the "corpus": Latin for "body") of Christ. Most crucifixes portray Jesus on a Latin cross, rather than any other shape, such as a Tau cross or a Greek cross.[3]

For me, I do not worship the cross, but I do wear a tiny cross that has a dove in the center.  I do not wear it everyday but sometimes when I feel I need to remind MYSELF of who I am and what I am to be a example of, I wear it.  It is NOT something I wear to say, "hey look at me, I am righteous and good"  NO, it is a humble sign saying Jesus Christ Died a horrible death for me, a sinner who needs His love and grace every moment of the day.
I am weak, but HE is strong, HE lives and is alive!
It is more important to SEE how we act in being a follower of Christ than any outward adornment.  Make sure this year you are not into false advertising.  If you have a bumper sticker that is telling the world you are a follower of Christ make sure your driving shows that you are.  If you wear christian symbols ACT like a follower of Jesus Christ.

Galatians 6:14
But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
Galatians 6:13-15

1 Corinthians 1:18
Christ the Power and Wisdom of God ] For the message of thecross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:17-19

If you have never accepted God's call to follow Him, NOW is the time to do so.  You do not need anything but the complete surrender to Him.  Just fall on your knees and pray , CRY out to God for Help.  HE always hears a sincere cry for help.  If you do not give up and keep striving to obey, and be like Christ You shall be given all the help you need.  You will finally find peace and JOY unlike anything the world can give.  I have never regretted my calling and surrender to Him.  I KNOW 100 PERCENT His way is Best for us all!
